That's the shot I'm after.
I've filmed weddings from the Dakotas to California, and I still do it the same way every time. Show up, stay quiet, catch what's actually happening without telling people how to act. I'm not Martin Scorsese. You're not Leonardo DiCaprio (unless you really are and finally found someone your age). You're getting freaking married.
I got my start in sports videography and television before launching my own business. That work taught me to shoot on instinct, because there are no second takes on live TV, and no one's going to run the same play again.
I'm not big on over-posed shots or staged reactions. I'd rather be the person nobody notices until they watch the film back and wonder when I even got that shot.
